What to Expect
At First Baptist Church of Brazoria, you will discover a warm group of real people dedicated to following our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. From the moment you walk up to the building, you can expect an atmosphere where friendships can form and relationships deepen. A place that is serious about joy, true joy, the kind of joy that comes from real connection with God and others.
As you enter the worship center
You will be warmly greeted. A heartfelt greeting is a part of what makes a church a church. No matter what question you might have, just ask. Our greeters are there to help you get settled and comfortable.
Our ultimate goal is obviously a time of worship each week where we connect with God and He speaks to our hearts. The emphasis of worship is God. The music, message, and other parts of the worship should always point us to the Lord. His character and his word should always be at the forefront of our worship services.
During worship, please fill out the welcome card attached to the bulletin you were handed on your way in and place it in the offering plate when the offering is taken. We do not expect you to contribute to our weekly offering, but we would like to get to know you and the welcome card is the first step for us.
Before the service we have a fantastic Sunday School program for all ages from 9:00-10:15 am. Greeters will be at the main entrances to help you find the appropriate class.
what we wear
Come dressed in whatever helps you to worship. Some people wear suits and ties, some wear business casual, and some come in tee shirts and jeans. We want you to feel free to be who you are in Christ.
if you have children
You are welcome to bring your children into the worship center. If you desire, we provide supervised nursery care for children, newborn through 4 years old. Our trained and skilled workers love children and want to show Jesus' love through caring for them. Feel free to ask a greeter for assistance in placing your children in the nursery.
We also offer a children’s church option called “The Big Picture Worship Time”. The Big Picture Worship Time is an alternative worship time for kids ages Pre-K 5 through 6th grade. Kids will first go to the regular worship service with their parents. Bro. Greg will dismiss them after the children’s sermon, and then they will move to the Youth Auditorium for worship until 12:00 pm.
We hope you find Truth
The Bible tells us to speak the truth in love. The Bible is God’s truth. At First Baptist Church, Brazoria, we seek to explore, understand and apply God’s truth to our lives at every level in a spirit of love. You will find a growing variety of resources to help you grow in God’s truth. You can expect sermons that cause you to think and inspire you to go deeper in your faith, and music that enhances the message and leads you into God's presence as you worship in truth and in Spirit.
